Living Better in San Diego

American Diabetes Association Tour de Cure
With Katie McCroskrey and Dr. Rich Poser

3/29/2010

Saturday April 17th
, the American Diabetes Association Tour de Cure returns to San Diego!

It's time once again for the San Diego edition of the Tour de Cure, a series of fund-raising cycling events to benefit the American Diabetes Association.

Cyclists from around the region will ride one of four routes starting at the campus of Mira Costa College in Cardiff-by-the-Sea, to help raise funds for research, information, and advocacy, joining more than 40,000 other cyclists and volunteers from around the nation. Individuals and teams composed of colleagues, family, and friends annually take part in the Tour de Cure to raise awareness and needed funds for the nearly 24 million Americans with diabetes.

As almost all riders will tell you, the Tour de Cure is a ride, not a race with routes designed for family enjoyment and every cycling skill level, from the occasional rider to the experienced cyclist. The routes feature full-service themed rest stops with restrooms, mechanical support, and medical teams.

The San Diego Tour de Cure gets underway Saturday, April 17th at Mira Costa College in Cardiff.  Registration and start times depend on which course you're doing:

Century (100 miles)  -  check-in 5:00 am, 6:00 am start
70 Mile  -  check-in 6:30 am, 7:30 am start
30 Mile  -  check-in 9:00 am, 10:00 am start
