Green Oak Ranch is a non-profit, residential Christian-based drug and alcohol recovery center, an emergency foster care center, and a retreat facility located on 140+ acres in Vista, in San Diego's North County.

Those in recovery at the ranch are required to work on the ranch in landscaping capabilties, food service, or in hospitality serving guests who are using the ranch's retreat center, and residents are also given opportunities with an on-site nature center and petting zoo.

Often called of San Diego's Best-Kept Secrets, Green Oak Ranch's second annual Jumpin' Jamboree offers the public a chance to see the Green Oak Ranch for themselves and sample the ranch's barbecue and catering capabilties, and this year's Jumpin' Jamboree is Saturday, October 10th from 12 noon to 7:00 pm.

Tickets are only $5.00, and in addition to seeing the property and enjoying the food, the Evans Brothers Band will play a set, there will be a silent and live auction, $1,500 dollars’ worth of cash prizes for kids and adults, a magic show, a doo-wop concert, hay rides, a petting zoo, train rides, and a cowboy and western show!

Carl Filestra, a pastor, attorney, and the General Director of Green Oak Ranch Ministries, joins Tommy for this week's edition of Living Better In San Diego to talk more about Green Oak Ranch and the ranch's mission; and area activist, performer, and Green Oak Ranch booster Patricia Riley also joins Tommy and Carl to talk about this year's Jumpin' Jamboree.
